After all that work getting Virtual Server 2005 working on Windows 7, I have found Windows 7 RSAT !!! which includes Hyper V Manager
RSAT – Windows 7 – Hyper V
Need to turn windows features on for Hyper V

Worked for me using 64 bit amd64fre_GRMRSATX_MSU.msu
